Marina Tauber, subordonata lui Șor, se așteaptă să devină primarul unuia dintre cele mai mari orașe din R. Moldova.
Marina Tauber, a criminal investigated, has submitted the documents regarding her registration as an independent candidate in the race for the mayor of the city of Bălți in the northern part of the country. The member of the Șor Party, which has been declared illegal, did not take into account the fact that the law prohibits her from participating in the elections.

Marina Tauber, who is facing several criminal investigations, submitted the documents for participation in the local elections in the city of Bălți to the employees of the Electoral Council on Wednesday, and then went in front of the people who were waiting for her near the institution, announcing the decision.
„Today, following the decision made by our president Ilan Șor and our entire team, I am proud to have submitted the documents to run for the position of mayor of the city of Bălți, as I promised you, and we will fulfill our promises,” said the representative of the declared illegal formation.
Ilan Șor’s subordinate admitted that the law does not allow her or other members of the party, which has been declared illegal, to run for office, but they will ignore it.
„You didn’t think that this law is not retroactive, and considering that the Șor political party, unfortunately, was declared unconstitutional on June 19, but the law voted on July 31 and entered into force on August 8, you understand very well, if you have legal studies, that it has nothing to do with us, with the representatives and members of the Șor party,” said Marina Tauber, who had previously aspired to the position of mayor of Bălți, but was excluded in the second round of the election, a decision made by the Central Electoral Commission due to irregularities in the financing of the electoral campaign.
In July, the Parliament of Chișinău voted in final reading the project that prohibits members of the formations declared illegal from participating in elections for a period of up to five years, a term that begins from the moment the decision of the Constitutional Court (CC) is pronounced.
The vote was given almost two months after the judges of the Constitutional Court admitted the Government’s notification regarding the declaration of the party led by the fugitive politician Ilan Șor as illegal, who was sentenced in the spring of this year to 15 years in prison for fraud and money laundering in the „Bank Fraud” case.
He is evading justice in Israel but is active in Moldovan politics, organizing anti-government protests under the pretext of the internal situation and admitting to offering money to protesters, arguing that they are „against disgrace, poverty, hunger, and the cold to which they have been condemned.”
The leaders of the Government in Chișinău have warned that the protests are part of the Kremlin’s plan to destabilize Chișinău, information denied by Ilan Șor.
However, before one of the protests started, the police announced that the protest was going to be destabilized by individuals with criminal records or with sports training and who were paid thousands of dollars, with specialized Russian services behind the operation.
